A Ham resident is commemorating Remembrance Day in a unique way, by painting rocks.

Josie Day started a Facebook group in September called Ham Rocks, encouraging people to paint their own rocks and hide them around Ham for others to find and post pictures.

With over 300 members, the group has decided to paint 100 rocks to commemorate the armistice. These rocks will be placed on the long wall outside Tesco in Ham.

Josie said: "It’s gone crazy everyone is loving the wall and all the beautiful decorated rocks for the fallen soldiers, myself, my daughter and niece spent a few days making 100 Poppy’s for the wall as well, and we are going to be meeting there on November 11 to do two minutes silence at 11am.

"I did not expect so many people to join the group when I started it. I am shocked that it has been such a big hit, children are loving it. I would love for more people to join and gt involved."

So far the group have managed to paint 85 rocks for Remembrance Day.
