A four-year old horse trapped in a ‘boggy’ pond in Painshill has reportedly been rescued by firefighters at the weekend.
Firefighters were called at around 8.20pm on October 13 to reports of a horse stuck in a boggy field on Reigate Road in Hookwood.
A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We sent one fire engine and three specialist vehicles to free the horse and left at around 11.30pm.”
In a Facebook post, Painshill Fire Station Unofficial wrote: “Jack the four year old wandered into a dried up pond where he found it wasn't so much dry as boggy.
“He was a very chilled out lad though and made us scratch our heads to come up with several plans, I think plan f was the winner.
“Control were spot on by giving us loads of info about the horse and that vet had been called. Happy days and silly horses!”
