A recently qualified doctor in Thamesmead has had her 'on-call' scooter stolen from outside the surgery.

Dr Romero Perez, who works for Lakeside Medical Centre in Yarton Way, had only bought her scooter a week before it was stolen.

The practice's car park has recently been moved from the back of the surgery to the side, in full view of Yarnton Way.

It is thought the scooter was stolen between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday (October 11).

On-call doctors regularly use bikes and scooters to get quickly to patients instead of relying on public transport, so this can mean life and death to patients who need immediate help.

Diane Sines, business manager at the surgery, said: "Romero is so full of enthusiasm. This has left us all feeling very sad and let down because a lowlife has now destroyed a young doctor's dream."

The surgery would like you to contact them if you have seen the Black Honda PSi 125ee with the registration number LJ56 UZR.
