A man is in hospital after being shot in Greenwich.

Police were called to Old Pearson Street at 8.30am this morning (October 8) following reports of gunfire.

Bullet casings were found at the scene but there was no one present with injuries.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, attended a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound.

His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

The shooting happened close to James Wolfe Primary School in Randall Place.

However, police do not believe the incident was connected to the school or anyone at the school.

Detectives from the Met’s Trident unit are leading the investigation.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
