Bronze Age Way in Erith has now reopened after a hit and run in which a cyclist was killed.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 60-year-old died at the scene and the car drove off.
Officers were called by London Ambulance Service at 4.35am this morning to reports of an injured man at Bronze Age Way.
Officers found a 60-year-old male cyclist had been in collision with a vehicle but the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
Despite the efforts of LAS medics, the injured man was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.27am.
Enquiries are under way to trace next of kin.

As the road reopens, Transport for London has reiterated the Met's appeal for witnesses and has said the driver responsible must be "brought to justice."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to contact the SCIU by dialling 101 and quoting reference 844/8OCT.
