More than 2,200 people have been supported to live full and independent lives by Richmond’s adult social care team in the last year.

The 471-strong Adult Social Services team provide care and support to the borough’s vulnerable adults both at home and in care homes and day centres across Richmond.

This revealed level of activity comes as the borough marks the 70th anniversary of adult social care in the United Kingdom.

Cllr Piers Allen, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and Health said: “Our social care team provide a vital service to thousands of vulnerable adults in this borough and make a real difference to people’s lives across Richmond upon Thames.

“I know how much their tireless work is appreciated by those who use the service and, as we mark the 70th anniversary of social care, I would like to profoundly thank them for the difference they make in this borough.”
