Lower Twickenham Village was announced this year’s Best Village in Bloom at the awards ceremony held on September 25 at Clarendon Hall, York House.
It was final presentation made by Mayor Councillor Ben Khosa. It had been chosen from four finalist entries which also included Barnes, Hampton Wick and Kew.
This competition, now in its fourth year for all village localities in Richmond Borough, is sponsored by the Parks Department in co-operation with Richmond Borough in Bloom.
Last week, Lower Twickenham Village also won a Silver Gilt from London in Bloom and the Chairman’s Award went to Church Street and the Flood Lane car park.
Over 160 gardening enthusiasts attended the event, where Merit Award certificates were handed out to entrants in this year’s business and residential gardening competitions held by Richmond Borough in Bloom.
