Pubs, shops, cafes and churches have all been encouraged to enter the Richmond in Bloom competition.
Kew Society is going for gold this year, after winning two awards in 2017. Among those taking part are Café Yukari, the Kew Gardener, The National Archives “Pocket Garden”, Kew Pond and Kew Cricket Club.
Volunteers have come together to make sure it is looking particularly colourful, ready for judging.
A spokesperson from Kew Society said: “We are very grateful to our Kew Society volunteer gardeners who look after the gardens all year round and to Chris & Chris Motors and Bloomfield Cars for helping us keep the gardens watered."
Last year Kew won the Schooling Cup for Best Village and was awarded a Silver Gilt medal for the gardens at Kew Station, High Park Corner and the seat/planter outside the Greenhouse Café.
The results will be announced in September at a ceremony at York House, with judging currently ongoing.
