Hampton Court Palace Festival kicks off: Picture: Mark Miechowski / Fanatic
It was the day festival-heads had been waiting for as Hampton Court turned into a packed music venue.
Lionel Richie kicked things off on Tuesday night with a few timeless classics such as ‘Lady’, ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ and 'Hello'.
Although most shows are sold out including all of Richie's and Tom Jones', there are still tickets available for The Beach Boys and Joe Bonamassa.
This is the 26th year that the 3000 seat auditorium has held the event and will run until June 23, as fanfare and fireworks alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra close the show.
