Save the date: both GrooveFest in the Square and Hamptons' Carnival are returning on June 9.
Performing acts at GrooveFest, in Hampton Square, include The Chris Moy Band, Tuesday Blue, Little Hampton Band, Kristi’s Dance Academy, Groove Academy, Redshift, Kingston Rock Choir, The Basement Door and New Life Church.
Families encouraged to come down, pack a picnic and groove the day away.
The Hamptons’ Carnival in the green this year celebrates its 40th year and will have traditional fair games, stalls, dance and martial arts exhibitions.
The carnival is organised by the YMCA, and GrooveFest in the Square, now in its second year, is run by the Council.
YMCA St Paul’s Group Chief Executive, Richard James said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside Richmond Council to bring an unforgettable summer event to the Hampton community on 9 June.
"It’s a great opportunity for us to bring local groups and charities together, to showcase YMCA White House (which we manage on behalf of the Hampton on Thames Community Association) and to ensure everyone, young and old, has a great time.”
Ishbel Murray, assistant director of environment and community services at Richmond Council said: “It’s great to see the Hampton community coming together again this year and kicking off summer festivities with food, fun and festivities for the whole family.”
The events will take place from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday, June 9, at Hampton Square, Nursery Green and at the YMCA White House, Hampton.
