Five para athletes from Orleans Park School were part of a triumphant West London Boccia team.

Boccia is a ball sport, similar to boules, for players with a physical disability.

The team, led by Mitchell Robinson, included Aiden Robinson, Tom Manning, Elize Tanner and Billy Miller.

They won the under-19 Lord’s Taverners Schools Finals in Hertfordshire and Aiden was named player of the tournament.

David Allister, head of culture, said: “What a great achievement for these young athletes to win be crowned national champions.

"It’s fantastic to see young people from our borough have success across so many different areas.

“I’m sure the borough as a whole, and Orleans Park School in particular, will join me in congratulating Mitchell, Aiden, Tom, Elize and Billy on their result.”

The group from Orleans Park School represented West London following their London Youth Para Games win earlier this month.

The team went undefeated and were crowned National Under-19 Boccia Champions 2018, beating Kent 3-2 in the final, having won 6-5 over Yorkshire.
