A brazen burglar has left an elderly man feeling “unsafe in his own home” after it was broken into last month.
Police were called just before 10pm on Tuesday, March 27, to reports of a burglary in Oaklands Avenue, West Wickham.
Between 8.30pm and 8.40pm, a man broke into the 71-year-old victim’s home while he was out.
The suspect went into the kitchen, noticed a security camera and shut it off.
After this, he stole jewellery and perfume belonging to the victim’s late parents.
Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to in connection to the incident.
DC Chris Taylor, who leads the investigation for Bromley police, said: “Did you see the man pictured in this CCTV in the area on Tuesday, March 27 or know of his whereabouts now?
“This was a brazen burglary which has left an elderly man feeling unsafe in his own home and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 and quote CAD 8387/27mar or alternatively, ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
