CCTV of an unsolved stabbing in Whitton has been released in an attempt to find the suspects.

A man in his forties was repeatedly stabbed in an off-licence in the High Street at 10pm, on December 23, 2017.

The victim was working alone, behind the counter, at the time.

DC Mike Deans, the investigating officer from Kingston and Richmond CID, said: "This was a vicious attack on a man who was simply just doing his job at his place of work, a place where he should feel safe. The attack has understandably left the victim extremely distressed.

"It is through pure luck that the victim did not receive more serious injuries."

On the night of the incident, two men entered the shop with faces disguised by hoods.

Police say one of the men walked behind the counter and shouted ‘open the till.’

He then repeatedly stabbed the victim, who attempted to fight him off.

The second suspect remained in front of the counter but pulled off the victim’s turban during the struggle, police said.

Both suspects ran off in the direction of Percy Road. They did not steal anything.

Suspect one is described as a black male, about 5ft 11ins tall, wearing a dark hooded coat, jeans, black trainers and blue and grey gloves.

Suspect two is described as a white male, about 5ft 11ins tall, wearing a dark blue all-weather jacket, a grey tracksuit, black trainers and orange gloves.

The victim was taken to a west London hospital and later discharged and said to be recovering from his injuries.
