Whitton’s St George’s Day Parade is just around the corner promising a day of fun for all.
The event, organised by Love Whitton, will take place on Saturday, April 21, running from 10am to 6.30pm and includes live music, performances, fairground rides, and a host of food and product stalls.
The parade, which starts at 11am, will include St George, the town crier, local school, cubs, scouts, guides and brownies, the boys brigade, Whitton football and rugby teams, Harley Davidson motorbikes, Lambretta and Vespa scooters, classic cars and military vehicles, the Pearl King of Peckham, Dansicality, the Basement Door music project, Harley and Charlie from The Harlequins, Ruckly Bear from RFU and Nuffy Bear.
The Radio Jackie community stage, sponsored by The Golden Grill, will feature performances from Twickenham Academy, Nelson School, Chase Bridge School, Dansicality, O’Connor Irish dancers, Brunk (a punk brass band), Zumba dancers, Bollywood dancers, belly dancers, circus performers and more.
The Basement Door Open Mic Stage, sponsored by Basement Door and Milestones, is open for anyone to turn up and perform, hosted by Basement Door youth music project.
The event has been sponsored by Abracadabra Sound & Light, Five Fish Printers, Golden Grill Restaurant, Mantle Financial Planners, Milestones and The RFU.
