Jesus’s crucifixion is brought to life when the open-air Passion Play of returns to Richmond this Good Friday, March 30.
A town centre procession of cast begins at 11.30am and the play starts at 12pm in Whittaker Avenue, by the Old Town Hall and Reference Library, and the Riverside Terraces.
The complete Easter story will be captured, beginning with Jesus’ ceremonial entry to Jerusalem on a donkey, and including Roman Centurions, the last supper with the disciples, the betrayal of Judas, the plotting of High Priests, and Pilate and King Herod.
The action moves between stages accompanied by choir music and leads finally to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
