American Nails at 41 High Street applied for a new special treatment licence, but according to the council has been operating without a valid licence since June 29, 2016.
On August 1, 2017, an allegation was made that someone was injured during a treatment.
The customer said the pedicurist “went too deep” and “cut a slice of flesh”, which led to a trip to A&E due to “continued pain”.
This led to an investigation which found American Nails did not have a valid licence.
A full report on the refusal, decided at a licensing sub-committee meeting yesterday (February 27), will not be released until the applicant receives the decision in writing.
