On Saturday I had an enjoyable afternoon visiting Barnes Fair. It was very well attended and vibrant. However, I was surprised and concerned by the lack of recycling bins, resulting in mountains of undifferentiated waste being loaded onto lorries by Continental Landscape staff, presumably bound for landfill.
Next weekend I will be attending the Latitude Festival where recycling is given high priority and implemented very successfully. Perhaps similar concern for the environment will be evident at the fair in future years.
