"I hope to celebrate EVRA’s 90th year in a way that no-one will forget” since making that promise in the newsletter EVRA Chairman Brian Angus has issued this invitation to all over 90s: “RSVP If you were living in Ewell in 1927 - even if you were too young to remember please accept our invitation to a Tea Party on Saturday 15th July.
The High Street will be specially ‘decked out’ and closed to traffic for the Summer Fair.’ Please make sure to reserve your VIP welcome by writing or emailing me no later than 15 June – bangus@tiscali.co.uk”
Brian has also prepared a display board which he wants to lend to schools and events throughout the year. “So I admit there is a bit of railway thread running through my history explaining the formation of Ewell Village Resident’s Association and Epsom & Ewell Borough Council. We have been able to recognise many of the locations from the photos of 90 years ago, and even put names to some of the people.”
