Goal machine Levi King isn't satisfied with scoring 51 goals for Sporting Richmond this year and has set his sights on signing for a professional club, according to manager Dave Rose.

The 18-year-old Richmond College student has had trials at Fulham and Stevenage Borough, but was hampered by injuries on both occasions.

But after an astonishing season in the West Fulham Sunday League Division Three this season - in which King broke a metatarsal bone during March - he hasn't given up hope of making it as a professional.

Rose said: "Levi has been fantastic. He definitely knows how to score a goal."

Striker King, a Staines Town youth star, scored nine goals in a 22-0 win over Middlesex United, despite his side being one man short.

"They had conceded a lot of goals before so I fancied my chances. We only had 10 men for that match because not all of our players had turned up," he said.

"In the end, I scored four goals in the first-half and five in the second."

It was a spectacular debut season in the league's bottom division for Sporting Richmond, formed by a group of friends last year.

They won all 18 league games and two cup competitions, scoring 116 goals in the process.

When Richmond won the Alf Dear League Cup by beating Premier Division side AC Fulham 2-1, league administrators conceded that Sporting were too good for the bottom division and elevated them three tiers to the Premier Division.

"It's not much fun beating teams by so many goals every week," added Rose.

His sons formed the club a year ago and persuaded him to manage the team - despite having never taken charge of a senior men's side before.

"Without doubt it will be much more of a challenge in the Premier Division," said Rose - before admitting that his team also beat another Premier Division side 13-0 on their way to the Alf Dear Cup.
