Kew first team are still searching for their first win since clinching promotion to the Home Counties Second Division, writes Stuart Cosstick.

They were soon in trouble after electing to bat at home to Wokingham last Saturday. Although skipper Tindall tried to hold the innings together with a patient 28, Kew could only muster 148 all out from 52 overs.

When their turn came to bowl, Kew did take early wickets to leave Wokingham on 42-3.

However, the visitors scored at over 6 an over which always made it tough for Kew defending a small total. Kew managed to take seven wickets, with Kidron Thomas taking 4-65, including a stunning catch off his own bowling. Nest week, Kew travel to Thame Town.

Kew host NPL Teddington on Saturday (1.30pm).

Kew II moved up to second place in the Thames Valley League (Level 4B) with a convincing win away at Chesham.

Winning the toss, Kew's Mike Dunn bowled superbly - unchanged for 20.3 overs taking all 10 wickets for 45 runs, as Chesham were bowled out for 125.

It was an excellent spell of bowling which set up the win. Kew made light work of the chase, achieving their target in just 20 overs, with 8 wickets to spare, Keith Potter with 53 and Terry Crabb 41* doing the damage.

To mark taking all 10 wickets, Mike Dunn was presented with the match ball after the game.

Kew III were beaten by the weather in their match with North Maidenhead. Kew scored 158, and had North Maidenhead at 44-4, rain intervened and the game was abandoned as a draw. In spite of the loss 6 wickets to North Maidenhead 4ths, Kew 4th XI are still in 3rd place in their league.
