Bob Barnes, reappointed as manager of Feltham in place of Colin McConigley, has been set the target of gaining the club promotion in two years.

Nomads Feltham will be ground sharing with Bedfont instead of Hampton and Richmond next season while waiting for Feltham Arenas to be ready to move into after a three-year break.

Chairman Brian Barry says: "Bob quit during last season because he needed a hernia operation, but he is now fully recovered and Colin was aware that his appointment was only likely to be on a short term basis.

"Bob has had three or four spells as our manager during the past 10 years and we know he is capable of bringing us promotion.

"We have set him a two-year target, but who knows he may achieve it at the first attempt.

"Once we get back to Feltham Arenas it should make life easier for him.

"We started work on the ground six weeks ago, but then discovered we still needed planning permission.

"The council should announce their decision in the next five weeks and if they give the go ahead we could be back at our old ground before the end of the coming season.

"We plan to lay six pitches, refurbish the stand and provide community facilities including a boxing club."

Bedfont's relegation means that both they and Feltham are now in the Combined Counties League One next season, and normally two teams from the same division would not be allowed to use the same stadium, but Barry points out that the league gave their blessing to the ground-share two months ago when Bedfont were in a higher division.

The switch in landlords is necessary because Hampton and Richmond will be running a reserve team.

Bedfont lost their last tenants when Hounslow Borough were wound up near the end of last season.

* Vandals set fire to the old clubhouse at Feltham Arenas last week, leaving it gutted. But it was due to be knocked down anyway.
