A long serving headmistress died this week with former staff and pupils paying tribute to the "fondly remembered" and "passionate" teacher.
Elizabeth Candy was at the helm of the Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH), Hampton, from 1981 to 2004. She died on November 9.
The school’s current head teacher, Heather Hanbury, said: "Miss Candy is remembered fondly by many staff, former students and their parents.
"Her legacy lives on in LEH: she was passionate about education in its broadest sense and encouraged the pursuit of extra-curricular interests alongside academic excellence.
"Miss Candy’s family are in our thoughts at this sad time."
