A grand day: Hampton Court Palace was on TV
Almost 100 volunteers in full Tudor dress recreated the christening of Henry VIII’s son Edward VI at Hampton Court Palace, in an event televised on BBC Two on January 10.
This year marks 500 years since builders were commissioned to lay the foundations of the palace, and the recreation focused on the events of October 15 1537, bringing to life the christening of the king’s long-awaited heir.
The “long-awaited son is born” event will be recreated on February 23; keep an eye on the website in the coming weeks for more details.
