A micro-brewery in Twickenham celebrates its 10th anniversary next week, making it the oldest of its kind in London.
Twickenham Fine Ales was founded by Steve Brown in 2004 and was the first brewery in Twickenham since Cole’s Brewery closed in 1906.
The brewery initially had a 10-barrel plant in a small unit but, as the company grew, space became a problem and they began their search to find another site to house a larger brewery.
After a two year search and a year of construction, the new, larger micro-brewery opened in December 2012 and can brew more than 28,000 pints a week.
The beers, which are regulars, seasonal and monthly specials, can be found across London and some surrounding areas.
Recently, Twickenham Fine Ales' best seller, the 4.4 per cent golden ale called Naked Ladies, was voted as London’s top golden ale by Camra.
To celebrate its milestone, the brewery will create a special beer called Decade and put on an anniversary event.
The event takes place at the Mereway Road micro-brewery on Saturday, September 13, from noon to 7pm.
