Am-dram groups across the borough are set to be recognised for their hard work in the Arts Richmond Swan awards.

Nominations include Bros’ Tom Cane as Stine in City of Angels and the Q2 Players’ version of Inspector Drake and the PerfeKt Crime for the Cygnet award.

The awards, made since 1985, encourage and raise standards in local amateur drama.

This season more than 40 productions were assessed from 18 societies by a panel of judges who have nominated performances in 16 categories.

The awards will be presented by the mayor of Richmond Councillor Jane Boulton, and Paul Miller, incoming director of the Orange Tree Theatre at a gala evening at the Landmark Centre, Teddington on September 7.
