Almost £2,000 was raised for the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher after a charity bridge tournament by the Rotary Club of Twickenham upon Thames.
The event took place last month, with 25 teams of four competing, whether novices or "grand master" level.
The marathon tournament lasted more than five hours, with rests in between where players enjoyed sandwiches and cakes supplied by members' wives and partners.
Winners received the Dick Muldoon Cup, while second place took home the Barry James Cup, named in honour of two late club members.
The winning team, captained by Marietta Andree, was Janet Cahm, Nigel Barnes and Phil Chan. A total of £1,500 and more than £400 in donations was raised for the home.
