Two world class musicians will take to the stage for a performance of Beethoven's Sonata No 3 in A major for cello and piano and Rachmaninov’s Sonata in G minor for cello and piano this month.

Pianist Benjamin Firth, described at 14 as a “prodigy of prodigies” after winning the British national Concerto Competition, will be joined by Sagi Hartov on the cello at Vera Fletcher Hall.

Ceri Williams from Vera Fletcher Hall says: “They are both brilliant musicians, and their music really is world class - a huge treat for the audience and all in Thames Ditton.”

Having achieved rave reviews from his American and Edinburgh Festival debuts, Frith established himself as an international concert artist.

He has appeared with many of the world’s finest orchestras including the Berlin Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony, Polish National Radio, and the BBC Philharmonic.

Israeli-born cellist Hartov began studying the cello at just 10 years old and at 15 years old he performed with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra.

Hartov came to the UK in September 2000 to study at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated in 2002 with a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction and was also awarded an LRAM teaching qualification.

Chamber Concert - Benjamin Frith (piano) and Sagi Hartov (cello); Vera Fletcher Hall (the theatre in Thames Ditton), Embercourt Road, Thames Ditton, Saturday, September 28, 8pm, tickets £12.50 (under 16 years free).
