Black Swans are rowing down the Thames to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice and Molesey Boat Club.
The four women who comprise Black Swan Rowing Club have signed up to row 40 miles to fundraise for a new community rowing tank.
Molesey Boat Club have already acquired the land, lease and permission for the tank and are now raising the money for the tank itself.
The Black Swans have volunteered to help with this cause.
They swans plan to raise enough money to help the Princess Alice Hospice as well.
The four women named themselves the Black Swans after they dressed up in the costume during their latest long distance escapade, the Great River Race.
The women pride themselves for their ability to row long distances and have called themselves “endurance beasts”.
They have set up the website mydonate.bt.com/teams/blackswans for people to donate money for the cause. The women will be rowing from Henley to Hampton Court.
The community tank would offer the opportunity for anyone interested to row regardless of their financial status or physical disabilities.
