An active and sociable woman who co-founded Cobham Radio Services has died at the age of 94.

Nora Joseph, who set up the electrical retailer with her husband Jack in 1941, died on June 6, and her funeral was held at Randalls Park, Leatherhead on June 18.

Mrs Joseph and her husband, who died in 2003, ran the business together, which was later taken over and sold by her son David.

Keen to help others, Mrs Joseph also made time to sell poppies each year for the Lest We Forget association.

Born in Ireland into a family with three sisters and one brother, Mrs Joseph moved to Cobham, where she lived for over 60 years.

Her daughter, Lyn Robinson, said: “She had enjoyed wonderful health into her 90s and regularly walked into Cobham for shopping trips and visits to the hairdressers.

“She was frequently seen catching the bus into Cobham or Kingston, remained active and sociable, and loved bumping into old friends and acquaintances she had come to know during her life in Cobham.”

Mrs Joseph leaves behind her son David and daughter Lyn.
