Drivers travelling through Twickenham will face increased traffic over the next month and a half after a collapsed sewer sparked major repair work.
A lane closure will be in place on the A305, The Green, when Thames Water starts work on Monday, March 18 at 9.30am.
The work, expected to last five to six weeks, will take place between the junctions of Oriel Court and May Road in Twickenham.
The lane closure will mean a two-way traffic light system will be in place, while a temporary traffic order will mean drivers cannot park on The Green near the repair work.
An alternative signposted route will also be advertised to Twickenham-bound traffic starting from the junction of Staines Road and Sixth Cross Road.
The route will direct traffic south east along B358 Sixth Cross Road, left into A311 Hampton Road at the traffic lights, before ending at the A311 / A305 The Green, where all vehicles will turn right into the A305 Heath Road and rejoin the original route.
