A woman appeared in court after punching her sister while their pregnant friend drove them home from a night out.

Jodie Penfold, 26, of Cross Road, Weybridge, pleaded guilty at South West London Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 13, to assault by beating.

The court heard Penfold had been arguing with her sister Kiely when she punched her in the face, causing her nose to bleed, in Hampton Court Road at 2am on Sunday, March 3.

The sisters’ friend Katie Dinning, who was 24 weeks’ pregnant, was driving them home from McClusky’s nightclub in Kingston and pulled the Ford Focus over to flag down the police.

The court heard Penfold was in breach of a conditional discharge that she received after she punched a female pub manager when she was refused service because she was too drunk.

She accepted she has issues with her temper, particularly with members of her family.

Penfold was granted bail with the condition she must not to contact her sister or Miss Dinning.

She was due to return to court for sentencing on Monday, March 25.
