Pedestrians will have to use alternative routes to cross the River Thames while works take place on Teddington Lock footbridge.
The suspension bridge in Teddington will be closed for nearly four weeks to allow new lights to be fitted.People wanting to cross the river will have to use Kingston Bridge or Richmond Bridge while the works take place from Monday, March 4, to Thursday, March 28.
A Richmond Council spokesman said the bridge would close between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday, allowing schoolchildren and commuters to cross the river outside these times.
The spokesman said the busy crossing was also due to remain open over weekends.
