Brit award nominees Stooshe made a surprise visit to children and teenagers at a Hampton hospice.

Youngsters at Shooting Star Chase, who have life-limiting conditions, met the girl band and enjoyed an exclusive a capella performance of their song Black Heart.

Elisha, 12, said: “I loved meeting Stooshe. I am their number one fan. It was great meeting them and hearing them sing.”

Luke was lucky enough to get kisses from each of the three girls and a promise of tickets and backstage passes to a gig.

The delighted 15-year-old said: “I had great fun. They are my new favourite band.”

The singers also chatted to the children and teenagers and their families and took a tour of the hospice during their visit on Tuesday, January 29.

Band member Courtney Rumbold said: “Meeting the children and teenagers has been amazing. They are so full of life.

“We are so happy to be here and chill with them. We weren’t expecting to sing, and it was more nerve-racking singing to the crowd today than it is on stage.”

Singer Alex Buggs said: “We were speaking to the staff earlier, and to think that a facility like this can only be here because of fundraising is unreal.

“They have to raise £8.5m a year. If we can just make people more aware by being here, we are really pleased.”

Vikki German, activities co-ordinator at Shooting Star Chase said the children and teenagers, as well as the staff, had a lot of fun.

She said: “The girls were great, really natural and down to earth and a big hit with us all.

“It’s great to welcome pop stars who can really get on a level with the children and teenagers we support.

“And if it makes people more aware of the vital care Shooting Star Chase provides, even better.”
