Christmas celebrations will be even more magical this year as Teddington will be traffic-free.

Teddington High Street will be shut to cars for three hours between Langham Road and Station Road, on Thursday, November 29, leaving residents to enjoy the festivities.

Television personality Tim Vine and Richmond’s deputy mayor Councillor Lisa Blakemore will switch on Teddington’s Christmas Lights at Elmfield House at 6pm.

Families can enjoy reindeer rides from Park Lane Stables, offers from local shops and songs by carol singers from Churches Together in Teddington, who will sing at Elmfield House and Cedar Road car park entrance.

The road will be closed between 5.30pm and 8.30pm and buses will be diverted.

The Teddington Society and police will be working together to ensure inconvenience is kept to a minimum.

The swimming pool will be open as usual and special arrangements for car park access for the disabled and others who are unable to walk to the pool are in place, with details available from the pool.
