Long lost work of a local legend and leading member of the UK porn industry has been unearthed and reproduced on a unique vinyl record.

Mary Millington is widely thought of as the most famous porn star in 1970s Britain, appearing in all the best known adult magazines, starring in the 1977 film Come Play With Me and even running her own sex shop in Tooting High Street.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

However, following the death of her mother the sex superstar sank into depression, suffered from drug addiction and debt and being found guilty of a string of petty thefts. She died of an overdose in 1979 at the age of 33.

Now four ‘porn audios’, which she recorded to accompany the magazines she posed for, have been pressed onto vinyl for the first time.

Publisher Michael Curran, 45, has run Tangerine Press, in Tooting, for the last eight years producing limited edition books of poetry, prose and photography.

Mr Curran said: "This Mary Millington record is a slight foray into the world of tongue-in-cheek spoken word from a fascinating character and of course a unique slice of local history.

"20 different stories were recorded when she was alive.

"They are really really funny. I can’t believe someone didn’t get excited about them then.

"The gatefold sleeves for the Mary record are handmade, with hand pulled screen print artwork with sleeve notes by journalist and documentary film-maker Simon Sheridan.

"There are only 200 numbered copies available."

All four stories featured in Come Play With Me & other tales have been taken from tapes and flexi-discs originally released in 1978/9.
