CALLING ALL ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS - Images of Chiswick Exhibition Announced Christ Church Turnham Green has announced an art exhibition and competition for young people that will be held in the church between 29th November and 1st December 2013. All proceeds raised will go towards our stonework restoration appeal.

As well as inviting local artists to enter works for sale during the exhibition, we would like to invite children from Chiswick schools to take part so that all ages in the community are involved. The children’s section will be in the form of a competition with prizes awarded for different age groups – 5-10, 11-14 and 15-18 years. The works must be submitted by 24th November and should also be available for sale during the exhibition. Entrants should register their interest by 30th October.

The exhibition in association with Haus Properties and sponsored by Snappy Snaps Chiswick who are offering significant discounts to entrants for printing and framing of their submission/s.

The exterior of the church is now undergoing restoration for the first time with the stonework being cleaned and repaired, the four clock faces re-guilded and new protective grills being fitted to the stained glass windows.

The total cost of the project is over £250,000, of which circa £200,000 has been raised so far. In order to raise the balance, we are holding a number of community events including a Harvest Fair on October 5th and the art show as mentioned above.
