The road is amazing, with lots of friendly neighbours looking out for each other and a WhatsApp group to discuss any issues of concern to each of us, as well as organising a street wide treasure hunt, loaning, borrowing and gifting items (books, toys, diy equipment and even a piano) and supporting those shielding during the Covid19 pandemic. The local pubs and cafes, with special mention to the excellent Rock Steady Lounge - the best Caribbean take away in Town will also be greatly missed. As will the many friends we have made within a 5 minute walking distance with other parents from our nursery and now school. I have never known community like it in my 20 years in London and I can say that Gipsy Hill is definitely the best kept secret and hidden gem of the wider cp area.


Whiteley Road runs off Salters Hill, which is off Central Hill (A214), and is within walking distance to Gipsy Hill Railway Station and affords easy access to Central Crystal Palace with its abundance of shops, bars and restaurants. Crystal Palace National Sports Centre is within easy reach and offers a wide variety of sporting & outdoor pursuits.
