QUICKS ROAD - PROPOSED PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING PLACES CHANGES

THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (S2) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 201*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton under the powers conferred by sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, propose to make the above mentioned Order.



2. The general effect of the "Parking Places' Order would be to:-



(a) extend south-westward by 5.9 metres, the pay and display parking place outside Nos. 83 to 88 Quicks Road so that its length is as specified in the Schedule to this notice, and



(b) reduce the maximum stay parking period for the parking place specified in the Schedule to this notice from 2 hours to 1 hour.



3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan which indicates the lengths of road to which the Order relates can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey.



4. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment and Regeneration Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/quicksrd, no later than 17 May 2019.

THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (WIMBLEDON VILLAGE) (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2019 THE MERTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (WIMBLEDON VILLAGE) ORDER 2019

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 24 April 2019, made the above mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.



2. The general effect of the 'Parking Places' Order will be to extend the operating times of the pay and display parking places in Parkside, Wimbledon, between its junction with High Street Wimbledon and its junction with The Green, from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays, to 8.30pm to 6.30pm Mondays to Saturdays.



3. The general effect of the 'Waiting and Loading' Order will be to:-



(a) consolidate the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Village) (No. 1) Order 2018 with its amending Orders, and



(b) amend the existing restrictions to facilitate the extension of the operating hours of the parking places specified in paragraph 2 above.



4. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 29 April 2019, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans specifying the lengths of roads affected by the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX.



5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

THE MERTON (LOADING BAY) (REVOCATION NO.*) ORDER 201*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, propose to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.



2. The general effect of the "Loading Bay Revocation Order" would be to revoke the London Borough of Merton (Loading Bays) (No. 17) Traffic Order 2005 and remove the loading bay situated outside Nos. 254 to 258 Grand Drive.



3. The general effect of the "Free Parking Places" Order would be to:-



(a) revoke the London Borough of Merton (Parking Bays) (No. 20) Traffic Order 2005 relating to parking bays in Grand Drive and re-introduce its provisions;



(b) introduce a length of free parking place for 3 vehicles operating between the hours of 1pm and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays in the length of street specified in the Schedule to this notice and specify that:



(i) each parking place may be used, subject to the provisions of the Order, for the leaving during the permitted hours of such vehicles as are passenger vehicles, goods carrying vehicles, motorcycles or invalid carriages;



(ii) vehicles may be left for a period of not more than 1 hour, no return within 2 hours;



(iii) the usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person's "Blue Badge" will apply.



4. The general effect of the "Waiting and Loading" Order will be to further amend the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977 so that waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for up to 40 minutes) would be prohibited between 8am and 1 pm Mondays to Saturdays in the length of street specified in the Schedule to this notice.



5. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a plan which indicates the lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey.



6.
