SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS FOR ROYAL WEDDING STREET PARTIES 2018
HARROW COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they have made a traffic order under the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that shall temporarily close the roads referred to in this notice to allow an event known as the Royal Wedding Street Parties to take place.
The general effect of the order shall be to:-
1. Vehicles shall be temporarily prohibited from entering the following roads between 09:00hrs and 22:00hrs on 19th May 2018;
(a) Beresford Road - between its junctions with Althorpe Road and Chandos Road;
(b) Courtfield Avenue - between its junction with Courtfield Close and its southern extremity;
(c) Fairlawns - whole road;
(d) Gerard Road - between its junctions with Woodway Crescent;
(e) Longcrofte Road - between the common the boundary of
Nos. 21 and 23 Longcrofte Road and a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 32 and 34 Longcrofte Road;
(f) St Kildas Avenue - whole road;
(g) St Margarets Avenue - whole road;
(h) The Glen - between a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 12 and 14 The Glen and a point between the common boundary of Nos. 28 and 30 The Glen;
(i) Wellesley Road - whole road; (j) Wentworth Way - whole road.
2. Nothing in paragraph 1 above shall apply to:-
(a) any vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;
(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;
(d) any vehicles used in connection with the Royal Wedding street parties;
(e) residents needing to gain access to their property, as far as is practicably possible;
(f) vehicles when used in the service of a local authority in pursuance of statutory powers or duties provided that in all the circumstances it is reasonably necessary in the exercise of such powers or the performance of such duties for the vehicle to enter
the restricted streets.
3. The provisions of this order will not have effect unless all the signs in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (c) are displayed, removed or covered, or unless at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.
4. Diversion route; local diversion routes will be in place where possible.
