Temporary Defence deployment over the Thames inlet at The Meadow, Teddington

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the inlet from The Thames, The Meadow, Teddington between Sycamore Way, Teddington (NGR TQ 17442 70998) and Trowlock Avenue (NGR TQ 17465 70957). The proposed improvement works will involve the following: the installation of sheet piles on both sides of the inlet, to allow the installation of 2.7m wide stop logs which will only be placed across the river during a flood event. The stop logs will be removed once water levels in the area return to normal. This structure will form part of the Environment Agency's temporary defences to protect properties at risk. The Environment Agency considers that the
improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. A copy of the Design plan can be viewed between 10.00 and 15.00 at Environment Agency office in Reading at the address below. Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
