PRESS NOTICE Application reference #1279 dated 05/05/2021 has been received by the above Committee for approval of the following works to an exempt ecclesiastical building.
1. St Elizabeth of Portugal (Church) - Richmond.
Grade II (Listing Number: 1261982)
2. Works Proposed:
Improving access and circulation: 1 - step free fire-escape route from the church; 2 - external access to the crypt by improving an external flight of stairs and adding a vertical wheelchair lift; 3 - internal access to the crypt and to the choir loft by replacing a metal spiral staircase with a regular staircase; 4 - Improve current wheelchair ramp to the main entrance which is partially blocked when the church doors are open; 5 - access from the narthex to the nave for wheelchair users by adding an automatic door opening facility. 6 - some necessary external repairs.
