Margaret Meineck

Margaret Meineck B.Ed. Passed away at home in Hersham on April 3rd, 2021 aged 83. Margaret had been Head Teacher of Bell Farm Primary School in Hersham, Green Wrythe Primary in Carshalton, Glastonbury Juniori n Morden and Deputy of Knollmead School in Tolworth. She was president of the Surbiton Rotary Club, secretary and trustee of Walton Rotary and very active in leadership roles with 1st Hook Scouts, particularly the band. Margaret served as a JP, prison visitor, and founded the Thames Scout Cruising Club with her husband of fifty years, David. They were both organizing committee members for the RNLI Lifeboat Day in Kingston for many years and members of the Hersham Village Society. Margaret is survived by her children, Helena, Anthony and Peter, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a private funeral at Clandon Wood on May 19th. Flowers can be sent to Frederick Chitty Funeral Directors in Walton and donations to Princess Alice Hospice, Esher.
