Actor Robert Powell hosted this year's annual Mad March Hares Golf Tournament at Kingswood Golf Club in Surrey.

The event, now in its 11th year, raised more than £18,000 for Help the Aged.

The star-studded tournament, supported by Golden Charter, saw celebrities including Jan Harvey, Mike Winsor and Adger Brown, teaming up with business people and amateur golf enthusiasts to complete the 18-hole championship course.

The challenge, organised by Stage for Age, Help the Aged's celebrity fundraising arm, was a huge success.

Robert Powell said: "Once again, Mad March Hares was a truly wonderful day out on one of the best courses in the UK.

"Thank you to all the participants who helped to make this year's event the biggest and best yet, raising vital funds which will make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged older people in the UK."

The event, which included an auction and raffle, raised over £18,000 for the Help the Aged SeniorMobility service which helps groups and projects buy vehicles and transport equipment to get older people to community centres and other essential services.

Help the Aged runs an extensive programme of fundraising events ranging from overseas treks to running events, star-studded dinners, student challenges and golfing tournaments to support its charitable activities.
