During the year The Rotary Club of Twickenham Upon Thames is active over a broad spectrum of activities to raise the funds for us in turn to help the community either locally or internationally where a disaster has struck such as the Nepal Earthquake. We are continually overwhelmed by the generosity and the friendship shown to us in the process.

What is not so well known is the contribution that the local business community makes to our activities whether it is the batteries supplied to us by CPC Battery Supplies to power our Christmas sleigh, or the creation of space by Squires Garden Centre to allow us to provide blood pressure monitoring.

Each year we have recorded our thanks to them in your newspaper. One business that has never been given the thank you it richly deserves is Opt4 Mobility Limited who have provided the club with second hand mobility scooters.

Opt 4 only sell brand new scooters and so when customers wanted to change to newer machines, Michael Hatherall, its owner and Managing Director, gave to us the opportunity to find a suitable home for the second hand scooters.

This arrangement has lasted over 10 years and during that time over 16 scooters have found a good home and local lives have been changed in the process. The allocation of machines is decided on the basis of requests that the Rotary Club receives from local charities.

This year, at the start of our new Rotary Year, the company has very generously given to the Club a brand new TGA Mystere Scooter with a sales value of over £3000 to add to our pool of machines.

We would like to record a big thank you to all of the local businesses who have been so supportive to us over the years.

OPT4 has its showrooms at 9/11 The Causeway, Teddington TW11 OHA. Its contact numbers are 0800 1955 803  or 020 8943 8890 and its website is www.opt4mobility.com.
