At the beginning of November, male members of staff at Serco Listening in Richmond, will become Mo Bro’s for the next 30 days, as they pledge to support the global charity initiative Movember, which is committed to ‘changing the face of men’s health’. They will start the month with clean-shaven faces, then endeavour to grow moustaches and extravagant whiskers, in the process becoming ‘walking, talking billboards’ that raise awareness of two often-overlooked men’s health issues, prostate and testicular cancer. Proceeds will go to The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Last year 12 people persevered throughout ‘Movember’, growing a fine variety of facial hair and raising £840 for charity. This year we are aiming for £3000 with over 40 people participating.

Team spokesperson Graham Bugsgang says ‘’Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men in the UK with one man dying every hour, more than 36,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year’’.

Donations can be made through our Movember Space, similar to Just Giving, by going to http://mobro.co/BestOfRichmond Team member Nicholas Alie has this to say: ‘’My motivation is the fact my father had Diabetes as well as Cancer and I may well be susceptible to the ailment myself. I'm not doing it for myself, but to highlight Men's ailments and make us more aware that we must undergo regular check-ups because we are not invincible or indestructible’’.
