Although it has been a long, dreary two weeks for Slough Swifts, they have finally returned back to Hockey, playing against the Slough 2nds in a friendly match. This does not count towards anything, just with respect from each team.

At one point, it seemed like the Slough 2nds were going to hammer the Swifts to make it a day they will not forget…however, it happened the other way around.

At the start of the match, the 2nds had the possession, until Zoravar Thind tackled Inderjeet and slotted it in the bottom left corner to make the scoreline 1-0 to the Swifts. The Swifts dominated the 2nds after Ben Harris crossed the ball into Kavan Nijjer, with him deflecting the ball into the goal, making the scoreline 2-0, all in the space of 7 minutes. This all came crumbling down when the 2nds had a break in the wings. Unfortunately the ball slipped past the pads of the Swifts goalkeeper (myself), making the score line 2-1. In the end, Swifts made them pay for their goal, with the captain Harpreet Dahele lifting the ball into the top left hand corner, making the score line 3-1. All of a sudden, everything came crashing down when the 2nds were awarded a penalty corner. A lovely cross in from Gill Sandhu, however a terrible shot from Felipe the captain, giving an easy save to the Swifts. Not all was lost as the Swifts were awarded a penalty flick. It was an easy goal, making the scoreline 4-1 just before half-time.

In the end, Slough Swifts won 7-4 with an amazing performance by everyone playing.
