Paws For Coffee is a dog heaven where dogs are treated better than people

Paws For Coffee is a dog-friendly cafe that has grown in popularity with every single day since opening up in March 2015. Paws For Coffee was opened on the Hampton Hill high street, just opposite one of the many entrances to Bushy park, a fantastic venue for dog-walking.
It has now branched out from Hampton Hill to Sheen, and in the future we should expect to see many more across the local area.

In Paws For Coffee they are well catered towards canines. They have their own separate menu with foods and treats such as Black pudding with goats milk, which is not what most people would expect a dog to love. She also has a range of dog biscuits waiting to be a lucky dog’s next meal. In the summer time when the temperatures are at its highest, Paws For Coffee provide cooling mats for the dogs, so the dogs don't get too hot whilst they tuck into their favourite meal.

Recently I spoke with Louise Rawlinson, the owner of Paws For Coffee, who came up with the idea. I spoke with her to find out about how she came up with the dog-friendly idea, or who she got it from. I wanted to find out about how she put her plan into action and how long it took, as this could be a stepping-stone for anyone else reading this who would want to do the same as her.

The first question I asked her was, ‘How and why did you come up with the idea of making it a dog friendly cafe?’
She said “Well I was working with dogs for about thirteen years and I wanted to do something different”, as she was a dog trainer. She then said that she “read a book about a dog-friendly cafe” and so that is where she got her initial idea from.
The second question that I asked her was what is her favourite and least favourite things about her job. She said that she “loved meeting new people everyday and watching her business grow”. For her least favourite thing she said was “All the paperwork and admin”. She said that she hated those aspects of her job, but it “has to be done”.

Another question that I asked her was ‘Where would u want to expand to in the future’.
And she said that she would want to “expand to the seaside, for example Kent or Cornwall”.
And she also said that she would “want to go into London and open some (cafes) near the parks”.

Special Thanks to Louise Rawlinson for the interview.          //Rory Cunningham, Hampton School
