This year I was lucky enough to visit the island of Tenerife – here’s what I thought!

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, situated to the north west of Africa.  The island has many tourist attractions such as Mt. Teide, a dormant volcano and the highest point in Spain, beautiful black and golden beaches, a lively capital city called Santa Cruz, and multiple resorts in Los Cristianos and Playa De Las Americas.

When visiting Tenerife tourists head to the south of the island for the radiant sun and beaches.  The south also hosts Europe’s ‘best’ waterpark – Siam Park.  After visiting this water wonderland I can definitely say that I agree with this title – I had a day of fun, sunshine and adventure!

If you’re stopping off at Siam Park you mustn’t forget to visit the mall just next door.  The modern shopping centre has all of the well-known brands such as Zara and Pull and Bear as well as funky cafes and bars.

During my stay I also visited the popular beach, Playa De Las Vistas – it’s perfect for a game of volleyball, a water sport adventure or even a boat trip to see the beautiful dolphins and whales.

However the highlight of the week was Mt. Teide – a beautiful volcano set in an unearth like landscape away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists below.  The draw dropping area is set 3,718 m above sea level, making it the highest climb in Europe!

After an amazing week discovering the island I am definitely going to return – why don’t you try an island adventure too!
