A few weeks ago, Croydon High schools DofE sqaud made their way to Box hill.Box Hill is a summit of the North Downs in Surrey, approximately 30 km south-west of London. The hill takes its name from the ancient box woodland found on the steepest west-facing chalk slopes overlooking the River Mole. There was a lot of sweat, lost groups and mushy sandwiches but in the end the scenery was worthwhile. The walk was really extravagant , we came across cattle, fast-moving cyclists and extreamly steep hills with never ending staircases. To anyone interested in DofE, go for it! Its an experience that cannot be explained unless you try it.
" I was surprised, even though we were not the most athletc group, we managed to make it before anyone else. DofE isn't about how sporty you are, it's about how you understand direction"- Milla Booth
"We were so lucky with the weather"- Madeliene Brooks
"Our team leaders and group were so friendly and we had great intellectual coversations on the journey"- Rhea Patel
Amirah Khalid, Croydon High School
