On Saturday 3rd of December, the annual Carshalton Frost Fair was held. Many people from the Carshalton area and some from further afield, came to enjoy food, music and entertainment.

This exciting community event was held by Carshalton ponds, around the heritage centre and ecology centre. Local businesses set up stalls, selling a range of items from jewelry to home ware. There were also plenty of food stalls, such as The Giggly Pig Company, selling hog roasts, bacon rolls and sausages in rolls which were of course extremely popular. Many people also clutched a hot chocalate, a perfect way to combat the cold weather. Activities were also held, such as a Christmas trail for children, which had many eager participants.

Throughout the day, there were a variety of peformances. These included Morris Dancing, drama performances, and carols sung by choirs such as the Brook Choir, Carshalton Salvation Army and the Carshalton Choral Society, to get visitors into the festive spirit.

The Frost Fair was a great success. Many people of all ages came to browse the stalls, have a drink and a generally good day in their local area. Hopefully, the locals an look forward to equally as good, if not better local events in 2017.
